A Better Way Smart Company Christmas Decor hopes to be a viable, consistent contributor to the community as it grows into a strong organization dedicated to education and business opportunities in 2010.
In its third year as a JP Horizons Smart Company, Christmas Decor has played a valuable role in Face-To-Face events, peer groups and more. This year, Christmas Decor will be a resource for community members by sharing its success growing profits while energizing people and benefiting the planet. Glenn Lewis, executive vice president of operations, said his company can help other organizations grow profits by adding a new offering during the holiday season. “We’re really proud of taking companies and helping them grow their overall business,” Lewis said. “We’ve filled an off-season void and helped them gain a different market share. Our concept has really changed the business situations of our franchisees.” Christmas Decor is excited to be represented by 350 strong locations throughout the United States and Canada. To the delight of the national organization, these branches play an active role in their communities as well. Each year, Christmas Decor provides complimentary decorations to military families across the U.S. Corporate leaders at the company encourage franchisees to decorate one home, but Lewis said many of the local groups decorate three or more. In addition to providing a positive business model and setting a great example in the community, Christmas Decor is careful to take steps in its business to support the planet. Christmas Decor, which makes the purchasing decisions for its franchise, began buying the energy-efficient LED lights in 2007. Each new franchise since 2008 has purchased only LED lights. Lewis said about 80 percent of lights installed by Christmas Decor are the energy-saving bulbs. Not only do the LED lights benefit the planet by using one-tenth of the power, less copper and fewer extension cords, they also require less installation time and maintenance by Christmas Decor. Lewis said Christmas Decor will continue increasing its usage of LED lights. A Better Way Community is excited to welcome Christmas Decor as a Smart Company.
