Throughout its more than 50-year history, the J.J. Mauget Company has successfully found ways to capture the business opportunities of the day while sustaining the world for tomorrow. Mauget was founded in 1958 by Jim Mauget. He was joined a few years later by chemist Dale Dodds. Dale, an environmentalist before green was in vogue, encouraged the company to focus on recycling in the 1950s. Nate Dodds, Dale’s son, says that a concern for the planet is woven throughout Mauget’s history. “It is part of our culture to protect the environment,” said Nate, now president of this company which is dedicated to providing products that restore, maintain and enhance tree health. Since its start, Mauget has focused on research and education. The business is committed to quality, and it provides extensive training for anyone who uses Mauget’s products. “The J.J. Mauget Company uses research to develop and improve our products. Research is in our roots,” Dodds said. In addition to its efforts to benefit the planet, Mauget’s leaders have been dedicated to developing relationships with their customers and employees. Dodds said his business wants to do right by their customers, to deliver products that go beyond doing what they promise and surpass the customers’ expectations. Mauget has joined A Better Way Community as a Smart Company to provide the Green Industry with information about tree care services that will expand their businesses and offer them an on-the-ground, environmentally responsible way to maintain trees. Dodds said he hopes to partner with A Better Way Members to help them better care for customers’ properties. But Dodds said he is most excited about working with A Better Way Community because of the power of its mission statement to “Capture the business opportunities of today while creating a better world for tomorrow.” “This movement is not just about changing businesses; it’s about changing lives!” Dodds said.
